Pokemon Heaven

Gotta catch 'em all.

Pokemon fan or not, adult or kid, Charizard or Squirtle, it doesn't matter... if you are visiting Japan, you simply must check out a Pokestore, or in our case... three!

On our first experience, we visited the Pokemon Center in Osaka - it was located on the 13th Floor (unlucky for some!) - and we decided to ride the escalator, just to add to the excitement and anticipation! You know you've arrived when you see the hundreds and thousands of Pokemon, in a rainbow of colours and in all shapes and sizes, greeting you with their cute smiley faces :).

They stock anything you could possibly imagine, and probably quite a bit you never even thought of, including wedding cards and gifts, kitchenware, clothes, onesies, stationary, trading cards and much much more. We spent so long in there just wandering round seeing new things each time, deciding what to buy!

Our next visit, at Tokyo Station, there was cute store exclusive train driver Pikachu. This store was loads smaller, but definitely worth a visit if its the only one you're passing for a quick look, and to pick up a few souvenirs.

Last, we visited the Pokemon Center in Skytree Town, which felt bigger than the Osaka center but on reflection probably wasn't, it did, however, have different merchandise to the Osaka store, and again, cute store-specific Pikachus.

Tips;

  • Pokemon Centers are a must when you are visiting Japan, there are stores in Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, Nagoya, Yokohama and Hiroshima as well as Sapporo, Tohoku, Fukuoka and various smaller stores in stations/airports.

  • Visit later in the day/evening as there are less kids!

  • If you are a Pokemon fan, bring lots of money or a credit card and make sure you have some space in your suitcase!

  • Look out for exclusive and unique items such as train-driver Pikachu.

Wish you were here,
